10 Journaling Prompts
for the Fall Equinox
by Daria Grigoreva
The Fall Equinox marks the transition from Summer to Fall, when day and night are perfectly balanced in length.

As one of the four pivotal turning points of the year, it carries deep significance for your body, mind, and soul.

This time invites us to take stock - to gather the fruits of the actions, intentions, thoughts, and emotions you have “planted” through Spring and Summer.

Now, as we move toward Winter, it is time to assess our inner and outer resources. Just as one would carefully separate fresh apples from spoiled ones before storing them for the colder months, we need to discern which thoughts, habits, practices, and relationships nourish our well-being, and which ones quietly sow dis-ease.
The following journaling prompts will help you do just that: get clarity on what works and on what needs your attention in conscious releasing before the season ahead.
JOURNALING PROMPTS FOR FALL EQUINOX:

  • What nourished me over the past 3-6 months?
  • What relationships nourished me?
  • What habits nourished me?
  • What accomplishments am I proud of?
  • What did I gain/learn?
  • What fruits of my actions, thoughts, and emotional states am I reaping now?

After you completed the prompts above, take a moment to read what you wrote, take a deep breath, and feel yourself receiving it all in your body. Try not to skip this step even if your mind is telling you to. Then, when you're ready, move on to the next:

  • What drained my energy over the past 3-6 months?
  • What relationships drained me?
  • What habits drained me?
  • What thoughts/beliefs drained me?

  • What am I choosing to let go of as I step into the next season?
  • What will I continue to cultivate?

*If you would like, write what you are letting go of on a piece of paper a

and burn it or tear it up.

You can keep coming back to these insights in the months to come.
Notice what themes were most prominent, and if you are ready to change or release some habits, thoughts, or emotional patterns - you will be supported in bringing about these changes as the seasons change.

Other ways to support your body and soul during seasonal transition:

  • Taking time to quiet the mind - through meditation, silence, or anything that helps you feel receptive and spacious.
  • Being out in nature - connecting with nature helps you sync up with her rhythms and for your body and soul to receive important healing and information.
  • Conscious movement - getting into your body and moving with feeling - not moving to run away from yourself, but moving with how you are feeling right now, in this moment. Letting your body follow you feeling, and your breath.
